Cape Cod Chamber Orchestra
An imaginative blend of old and new, this program features the world premiere of Cody Forrest’s Cello Concerto, "the self that was song," performed by cellist Joseph Gotoff. This concerto explores themes of identity, self-discovery, and personal growth. Centered around the idea of song in its many forms, the self that was song highlights the soloist’s lyricism and vocality through an expressive journey across diverse styles and genres.
Haydn’s witty and theatrical Symphony No. 60 “Il Distratto” brings classical charm, while Jessie Montgomery’s vibrant Strum bursts with rhythmic energy and American spirit.

The CCCO takes a trip over seas with more beautiful English music for strings. Ralph Vaughan-Williams' Fantasia on a Theme by Thomas Tallis was inspired by this English Renaissance composer, creating a work featuring many of our musicians from the orchestra. Johann Christian Bach (the son of famed Johann Sebastian Bach) was best known as the "London" Bach, as he reached much success as a composer in England. The CCCO will perform his Sinfonia in G minor.
